There are many different types of vacations you can choose from, which will determine the experience you have. There’s nothing worse than planning a trip that only falls short of your expectations, especially with the rise in Instagram photos, which depict locations in a different light.

When planning a trip, it can help to understand the different types of vacations you can choose from, so you can better enjoy your time away.

Here are 5 types of holidays and what you can expect from each.

#1 Beach

A beach vacation usually entails recharging your batteries, getting a good tan, spending all day at the beach, and only moving for food and re-applying sun lotion. This type of vacation is great for anyone who wants to relax and do very little.

There are locations all over the world to choose from, with a range of different packages on offer so you can make the most of your trip, for example, all-inclusive packages. You must do your research before going, to ensure there is everything you need and they have a good reputation. #2 City

If you like the hustle and bustle of big crowds, then city vacations are perfect for you. With these types of trips, you can expect to be on your feet a lot, explore wonderful buildings, grab dinner and show, and shop ‘til you drop. There are usually endless opportunities for dining out and activities, including musicals, museums, and much more. If you are unsure of which cities need exploring then you could have a google search of potential destinations. You may have your heart set on a tour of Europe taking in all the major cities. One place you may have always wanted to visit is Paris, France. There are plenty of things to see and do, take a look at a Paris travel guide to find out more about the type of adventure that awaits you.

#3 Camping

The complete opposite to a city trip, camping is a great way to spend your vacation if you want to connect with nature and disconnect from the world. You can expect to get a little dirty, and perhaps even wet, depending on what time of year you head out. Camping is a great way to go back to basics, sleep under the stars, and indulge in the natural beauty of the world, usually with limited phone signals.

#4 Road trip

A road trip is an amazing way to explore new places while taking scenic roots and exploring all the places you would have missed on a plane or train. A road trip gives you the flexibility to travel wherever and whenever you want, without having to deal with public transport. This type of vacation is great for those who like to move around often, see more than one location and don’t mind spending time in a car (as the travel can take longer than by plane).

#5 Cruise

A cruise is a great way to try something new and explore new places. Cruises typically visit more than one destination, so you get to benefit from the onboard luxuries (which act as a floating vacation resort) while visiting a new location every few days. The ships are usually well equipped with fine dining, alcohol, and swimming pools, so you can experience the best of both worlds.

There are many great ways to enjoy a vacation, so whether you like to relax, explore new locations or reconnect to nature, there is something for everyone.
