Happy Tuesday friends! I hope that your week is going well! Today I so am excited to share with y'all about a visit to Thunder Hole in Acadia National park that my mom and I did while on our cruise with Holland America

As I shared last Friday, we arrived in Bar Harbor early in the morning and were excited to set out on our shore excursion that we had booked for early in the morning and then spend the rest of the day exploring the cute town of Bar Harbor. I shared on Friday all about the first stop on on our tour which was a visit to Cadillac Mountain (you can read about it HERE!).

After our time at Cadillac Mountain our tour then took a beautiful drive through the Acadia National Park, stopping at various points. This was one of the things that we loved most about this specific tour- the opportunity to spend time in Acadia National Park and I felt that this gave us a great overview of the area.

One of the things that I love the most about cruising is that it introduces you to an area and then you can decide whether you would like to go back or not and spend more in depth time in that area. Don't y'all feel that way? *smiles*

One of our stops along the way was to Thunder Hole. Thunder Hole is famous for the powerful force of water that can splash as high as 40 feet in the air with a roar. To get the sound is fascinating as it happens when a certain size of a wave hits the inlet (and the cavern seen in the picture above) it can cause a deep and thunderous roar to emanate in the area.

We were there early in the morning and due to the tide conditions the water wasn't as high as 40 feet but it was still incredible and definitely worth a stop to add to your adventure list in Acadia National Park!

No matter what time of the day you go you will not regret stopping y'all. The spot is simply stunning and allows you to view some of the most incredible features of Acadia National Park from the lookout area. If you want you can also do what we did and spend time walking among the big rocks, sitting out appreciating the view, and just exploring the beauty before you.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read today! Please let me know if you have any questions about Thunder Hole or our cruise with Holland America! It was simply lovely! You can read about all of our adventures on our cruise with Holland America by clicking HERE

Happy Tuesday friends!
