A Look Into Marriage And Divorce In 2021

August 8, 2021

Marriage is one of the most beautiful things in life and it is where two couples dedicate themselves solely to each other. Unfortunately, while the intention behind marriage is always good, sometimes marriages break down over time. There are a whole variety of factors behind why this might be with none more or less valid than any other. If you have got married young you might find that over time you have both grown as people and no longer want the same things out of life. One of you might have committed adultery and cheated, or maybe you just want a fresh start. It is important that when considering a divorce it is something that is taken seriously and not a decision that is made on a whim. According to the infographic below, the average length of time that it takes for someone to go ahead with a divorce, is 24 months and 12 days, right from when they first think about it, to when they action it. 53% of people were found to have spoken to a family member, a friend or a lawyer before initiating it with their partner beforehand. The average cost of a divorce is £5,300, but this is a figure that can vary depending on the situation. There are many reasons behind a divorce and while some do work it out over time and manage to avoid it, it is a best-case scenario for lots of couples. Find out more about divorce statistics below.
