If you would like to experience something different and take a break from civilization, you can find some great destinations in America that will tick all the boxes. Whether you would like to get close to nature, try a new sport or take on a challenge, you will love the below themes that will make you remember your break for many years to come
1. Kayak Tours

If you are up for a challenge, you might want to get on a kayak and watersport tour in America and explore one of the rivers in the region. There are great packages available at various locations, and you will not only learn some essential watersport skills, but also make new friends and get closer to the natural world. Check out Guest Reservations for a list of destinations you should check out and start exploring the waterways.

2. Yoga Retreats
To embark on a spiritual journey, you might also want to try a yoga retreat. Whether you are staying in the forest, an eco lodge, or a studio, you can explore some of the best places while staying connected with yourself and the surrounding world. Take the opportunity to take a break from technology and civilization, and discover your true purpose in life while looking after Number One.

3. Hiking Holidays
One of the simplest ways of challenging yourself and getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life is going hiking. You don’t have to take your car with you, either. Sign up for a guided tour so you can benefit from the skills and knowledge of professionals who help you find the best photo, bird watching, and wildlife spots.

4. Historic Trails

Interested in history? You will find several great historic trails in the United States to explore. Whether you want to find out more about the development of railways or the Civil War’s history, visit a couple of restored plantations, or take in the historic old cities’ atmosphere, there are great towns to explore. To find out more about the history of Colonial America, you might visit New Orleans where there are plenty of plantation tours available for visitors.

5. Nature Reserves
If you are interested in natural life and preservation, you should check out some of the famous nature trails and parks. Spend a beautiful summer weekend at Yosemite National Park, where you can take photos of some of the most stunning waterfalls. Enjoy the wilderness of this huge area, and go camping at one of the many sites. You might also want to consider the New Orleans Swamp as your destination, where you can go on the boat, visit Honey Island, or just check out the alligators and other water creatures.

If you would like to do something different on your next vacation, it might be a good idea to get active, explore the natural and human history of the United States, and create memories for a lifetime. Try the natural trails, national parks, and take on a new sport to challenge yourself.
