Happy Friday friends! I am excited to join back in with "Friday Favorites" again this week! I love how preparing for this post each week really makes me think about all of the things that I am grateful for!! So here are some of my favorites from this past week, including news of a go fund me for my precious mama...

1. View from My Office at the Cabin
I mentioned this last week and briefly mentioned this in the post on Wednesday (read HERE), but I started a new job that I am so excited about a little over a month ago. It has been incredible. I can't wait to share more in the coming weeks, but I work from home and this is another view from the Cabin office. It has been a beautiful blessing in so many ways and this view just fills my heart with such gratitude. More to come on the job next week!

I wrote about this restaurant back in August and on our trip down to NYC this week for my mom's pre surgery op appointments we stopped again and it was again delicious. I can't recommend this enough if you are traveling through poughkeepsie or traveling north or south on 87 and going past exits 17-19. It is worth the 20 minute detour (over and back).

3. New Items in the Caravan Sonnet Shoppe
I mentioned this last week but it would be remiss of me to not mention it again. I continue to be so grateful for all of your support of Caravan Sonnet Shoppe! I try to add in new items daily and I am so so grateful for all of your support! If you are not familiar with the shoppe Caravan Sonnet Shoppe provides colorful, creative, and educational middle and high school personal finance and history teacher resources. This is personal finance and history re-imagined for middle and high schoolers and those that teach them. If you are a teacher or homeschool mama or know of a teacher or homeschool mama that teaches these subjects I hope you will take a moment to check out the shoppe! New items are added almost daily and this past week a couple of the best selling items from the shop have been:

4. Ribbon and Button Specialty Stores in the Garment District of NYC
There is just something about the Ribbon and Button stores in this area of NYC. My mom and I have an exciting announcement that we are going to be announcing soon and we have spent a lot of time searching for the best quality items... many of which have come from around the world, including some of these specialty stores in NYC. Thank goodness for shipping since we do not live in the city!!

If you missed my post from earlier this morning, I shared about my precious mom's upcoming knee surgery that is taking place in the first week of October. If you are new to the blog then you may not be aware my mom has waited to have knee surgery as she spent an extremely difficult decade of helping to take care of me in my prolonged battle with Cancer and Advanced Late Stage Lyme Disease, and then our family experienced the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of our father in May 2019. My parents were on the verge of their 50th wedding anniversary in August and this has been the most painful thing for my mom. Then less than 2 years later my mom lost her mom and best friend. As she has continued to heal from these events she made the decision to courageously move forward with having knee surgery as she is in constant pain (NEVER complaining) and has extreme difficulty walking, even with her cane.

This summer we also found out that this surgery is even more crucial as my mom's left knee (which has bothered her for years) has a ripped tendon that is not possible to repair and affects her ability to walk and climb any stairs or steps. This made this knee surgery on her right knee even more crucial so that she can return to a normal life of movement and without pain. Her surgeon is incredible and has given an excellent recovery prognosis.

The approximate cost of surgery (with travel, hotel stays, bills and expenses) is $10000 and today I shared a Go Fund Me Page to help offset those costs by raising $2500. I understand that there are so many people who are going through so many different things so I appreciate your kindness in joining with us to help her. Please share this with those that know our mom or someone you think may want to help and most of all we appreciate your support and love of our family over this last decade and the suffering journey that we have walked.

If you would like to donate you can go HERE to the Go Fund Me Page!

Thank you for stopping by today friends! I hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
