Happy Thursday friends! I am excited to share with y'all a new restaurant that my mom and I have discovered in our travels from upstate New York to New York City as we have been traveling back and forth a lot this summer for my mom's hospital appointments with her knees. For point of reference, we often choose to stay in Fishkill (about an hour and a half - depending on traffic) from the doctors office due when we travel. We have chosen to do this for a number of reasons, but the main reason is to save money on hotel prices.

As we have traveled we have tried different restaurants but last week we choose to try Crew Restaurant in Poughkeepsie (about 15 minutes from our hotel in Fishkill) and y'all... it was so so good. Honestly, amazing.

The food was amazing and the combination of flavors was incredible. The executive chef (Thomas Kacherski) who opened Crew in 2009 is a 2001 Culinary Institute of America graduate and has been recognized in numerous ways and also has received lots of well deserved awards. Crew also hosts an extern program for the Culinary Institute of America where students can receive training at the restaurant.

Due to continued personal health safety decisions we chose to do takeout for our meals. It was easy to do, the staff was so accommodating, and were happy to answer tons of my questions regarding my allergies. The restaurant does offer gluten free options and it was a delight to not feel like a "bother" with my allergies!

I went in and ordered the food and the atmosphere inside was really amazing! It would be amazing to eat a meal in this space! I love the look and vibe of it!

Another thing that we loved about Crew Restaurant was their use of items from local farms. They share on their menu that they are devoted to local and fresh menu items from the Hudson Valley. "A farm-to-table philosophy dictates the seasonal menu and daily specials". I would definitely say that this was something that encouraged us to try this restaurant and it was evident in the flavors and quality of food that we ate.

We decided to order off the menu and the daily specials menu for our meals. We choose the Spinach and Artichoke Dip as an appetizer which was very yummy and then my mom chose the Vegetable Stir Fry for her main meal.

The Vegetable stir fry comes with tons of vegetables including mixed peppers, broccoli, haricot verts, baby carrots, bok choy, with a sesame-soy stir fry sauce over Basmati Rice. She chose to add chicken to it and y'all it smelled incredible. My mom ate every single bite and she said it was DELICIOUS. I couldn't try it (this dish is not gluten free) but it looked so incredible!

I chose one of the dinner specials of the evening, the lamb chops and y'all it was AMAZING. It was honestly one of the best meals that I have ever had! The lamb had a pistachio gremolata sauce on top and under it was a corn -squash mixture. It came with grilled asparagus and I am literally wishing I could eat it again right now. It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

The portions were HUGE and we could have definitely split our meals and I had some left overs, but y'all... it was amazing. So so good.

I am sure that this is not going to come as a surprise but I am definitely rating this as a 5 out of 5. The service was amazing, the food was incredible, the allergen friendly environment was top notch and the flavor combinations were a very happy party in our mouths. *smiles*

The next night as we were driving home after a LONG day at the hospital with tests and appointments we decided to take the 30 minute detour over to do take out again. We literally ordered the same exact meals and it was incredible.

A HUGE thanks to Crew Restaurant for an amazing meal that we still are talking about!

This post is in no way sponsored, and I hope that this review is helpful if you are in Poughkeepsie (or near it- take the detour to try the restaurant!)! Please let me know if you have any questions!
