Happy Friday, friends! I hope that you have had time this week to hold your loved ones a bit closer, find peace, and treasure simple moments during this incredibly difficult time in our world.
If you know me well, you know my heart has stumbled along just like many of you at the atrocities we have heard about. As a History teacher who has passionately taught Middle East History and the Holocaust my heart has been ripped in two. This week, my eyes were often filled with tears and whispered prayers...often speechless of how to pray for those who have suffered beyond anything I could imagine.
My heart has broken for the incomprehensible acts of what people are suffering and some of the responses to what people have endured this week. I am sure that you join me in prayers for the innocent lives lost, the grief and horror that people are experiencing, and mercy and peace to our world. I would never assume that my small space here could make a difference on world events, BUT I hope and pray that this space does always encourages you to get involved in some way, be tender towards everyone you meet, offer kindness, take to pray for those who are hurting and most of all support during these heart-breaking days.
People should never think that you have to be a very special person to help those who need you....even an ordinary secretary or a housewife or a teenager can, within their own small ways, turn on a small light in a dark room.
