Happy Thursday friends! For today's Thursday Health Thought, I am excited to share with y'all some amazing benefits of oregano! I know I have shared with y'all how much I love greens and the health benefits of so many of them. I have been loving adding oregano to my diet over the years, and in the last few months have made a concentrated effort to really add in oregano every single day! Here are just a few of the amazing benefits of adding oregano to your diet! 

1. Oregano May Help Fight Bacteria

Certain test tube studies are showing the power of oregano in helping to fight bacteria. One study that
 was conducted showed that oil of oregano might fight E. coli! 

2. Oregano helps reduce Inflammation
Cooking with Oregano (either fresh or dried) may help reduce inflammation according to several
different studies. 

Oregano is also said to help improve chronic inflammation which is key for people. 

3. Oregano helps Inflammatory Conditions
Oregano products also are known to help inflammatory conditions (including arthritis and allergies)! 


4. Oregano can help protect Against Viruses
In addition to fighting and helping aid different bacterial infections, oregano is known to have antiviral properties. A study published in a well known medical journal shows that the oregano can help relieve sore throats, fight different colds and coughs and even help cure a runny nose. In addition to this the studies showed that these two compounds even showed that they can help hinder herpes!!

5. Oregano helps aid in digestion
Oregano helps with different digestive issues. Some studies have shown that using oregano oil to help treat bloating, IBS and abdominal cramps is extremely successful.
