A HUGE Thank you!

May 31, 2018

At the beginning of this Lyme Disease Awareness Month (May), I had a secret dream and prayer request to get my book, Praying Through Lyme Disease into the hands of over a thousand Lyme patients who had contacted me over the last year desiring a copy but due to treatment costs couldn't afford one.

I was excited to reduce the cost of all of my Lyme books for the month and was still hoping and dreaming behind the scenes that my secret dream would come to fruition. When I shared here on the blog and other social media sites the option of purchasing a copy anonymously for someone, I was overwhelmed. To me the number that was needed seemed insurmountable to me. But over the course of the month message after message poured in and people's generosity to help strangers has blown me away.

Two days ago (at the end of May) the number had dwindled to 15 people being left and I was speechless! Then a sweet friend surprised me with wanting to purchase a couple of books. I explained that would be wonderful and then she said that she wanted to purchase 15 (as you can see in the picture above)!!! I was completely BLOWN AWAY by the exactness of this insurmountable number being met that I had tears.

People often say that Lyme Disease is not recognized but I see something different...I see strangers caring about strangers and people trying to help the overwhelming suffering that this disease causes. Thank you to each of you who lovingly supported so many people this month and your extreme generosity in giving in this way.

What We're Eating this Week...
Dandelions. And more Dandelions.

While I work hard to get lots of greens into me I have been striving to get more dandelions into me during this treatment round. Dandelions are an easy and effective way to gently detox (in addition to other health benefits which you can read about HERE) and are a great immune booster during treatment rounds. With the taste some people struggle to get dandelions into their system, but in this post HERE I share 9 quick and easy ways to get dandelions into your body.
I have also been adding a ton of Apple Cider Vinegar into my life and last year I shared 17 Quick and easy ways to incorporate it into your life which you can read HERE.

What I'm Reminiscing About...

What I'm Loving...
Being back at camp.  This summer is going to bring quite a bit of change to my life and I am grateful to be at this place that is surrounded by so much beauty to have a place of peace and rest to pray and process.

What I've Been Up To...
Studying, studying, studying for teacher certification tests. Words fail at how grateful I am to be at this point in my healing journey to take the beginning steps to get back into the classroom. While it will take time and be a slow journey, tears of gratitude are a constant companion these days...along with lots of happily colored notes.

Last week we moved down to camp from my grandmother's house which is about an hour away. We have been working on cleaning, unpacking, and getting settled in. I have been also working on getting the craft room set up! I am excited to share with y'all the final room this year! (You can find the shop by clicking HERE!)

What I'm Dreading...
Nothing really.

What I'm Working on...
Lots of things with Lyme Disease awareness month! There are only two days left of this sale (TODAY AND TOMORROW!!) You can read more about the sale HERE and to go directly to the book sale you can click HERE!

What I'm Excited About...
This summer.

What I'm Watching/Reading...
I shared at the beginning of April 10 inspiring books that I have read so far this year and I am about to do another post in the next week of an additional 10 books that have been so good! In the meantime if you are looking for some good books for the summer (including a sweet chick fiction book from a friend of mine- check the list out from April by clicking HERE!)

What I'm Listening To...
Hope Social Club came out with a new single and that has gotten me back into playing their music on repeat... all the time. Is it to much to say that I want their autograph??? Hahaha.

What I'm Wearing...
Lots and lots of pretty and girly summer clothing.... and looking for a new swimsuit... anyone have any great (and affordable!) suggestions?

I would love to know your answers to these questions friends! Share your thoughts below in the comments!!

 Happy Wednesday!

the earrings

May 29, 2018

Four years ago it became painfully obvious that it would be impossible for me to use oral antibiotics as part of my healing protocol for Lyme. My gut & entire digestive system had been to damaged handle them.

My medical team made the decision that we would proceed with treatment through shots for an entire summer & then proceed with a PICC line (#nicthepicc) (which was placed in October 2015) & possibly a PORT (#courtneytheportney - which did come in June 2016).

Those days of incredible sickness, incredible pain, & incredible despair were beyond physically painful, they were emotionally some of the most difficult in my health journey. They were hours upon hours, days upon days, and months upon months of being home bound & bedridden.

On one particular day, I personally needed to pick up some additional medicine so my mom drove (I was unable to drive during this season) us to Target. As we slowly made our way to the pharmacy section of the store we passed the jewelry display & my eyes immediately saw these beautiful earrings. I touched them with tears, knowing it was silly to be looking at earrings during this season of my life. I reluctantly put them back, silently remembering the days of old feeling like "a girl".

We picked up the meds & slowly made our way back to the car. As I got in my mom said that she would be back in a few moments & returned to the store. Several minutes later she came back to the car & handed me a small bag. Inside were these precious earrings, the ones I had looked at. My mom proceeded to say that these earrings were a symbol of drawing a line in the sand of how low things were with treatment & the fragile hope of healing to come.

I wore those earrings everyday for a year & on Friday I did again. Every time I do, I am overwhelmed with how incredibly grateful & humbled I am for all of the healing that has taken place & still will come. They also gently remind me to live constantly in hope in ALL situations, no matter what the circumstances look like currently.

Hope always friends, & draw a line today, where years from you can remember the dark moments where you held onto the hope that circumstances would change despite the seemingly impossible.

A Special Sale (LESS than a DOLLAR!!) on ALL of my Lyme books for Lyme Disease Awareness Month!

May 22, 2018

Happy Tuesday friends! I hope that y'all had a wonderful weekend and your weekend is off to a great start! This weekend seemed to fly by as we did a lot of packing and moving down to the cabin for the summer, hanging out with good friends, catching up with dear friends living far away, and spent time working on orders for the shop! My mom and I also went to some yard sales and rummage sales and I scored the NEATEST thing for the craft room at the cabin! I will have to do an entire post on it- because it was awesome. And it was only a dollar!! It was a lovely weekend- and I hope that y'all had a went good weekend too!
Another thing that I worked on this weekend was packaging up some special bulk orders of Praying through Lyme Disease and some of my other Lyme books, including When Truth Refreshes and the Christmas Lyme devotional, When Light Dawns. These are heading out to different countries! It is always humbling when this happens. Any order of any of my books is humbling and I am so grateful for your continued support of my writing. I have no words, just extreme gratitude.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, one of the things that I wanted to do to recognize and honor May being Lyme Disease awareness month is making my Lyme books the cheapest that it can be so that anyone can have access to it! I first put out Praying through Lyme Disease for only $.99 and now ALL of my Lyme books in the Kindle Version are $.99!!! Simply click on the links below to go directly to the Kindle Versions of Each Book:

When Truth Refreshes: Daily Reflections for the Emotions that Accompany the Lyme Disease Journey
When Light Dawns: Daily Reflections on Advent and Christmas for Lyme Warriors
Path of Hope: Daily Reflections on Hope from the Psalms for the Lyme Disease journey

I have one request for this month- if you have read or will read any of these books- would you consider leaving a review for others to know more about them? It doesn't have to be long, but ANY reviews that help potential future readers learn more about them and this would be such an incredible blessing! Thank you!

If are not a Lyme patient, but know a Lymie this would be a great gift to give them! If you don't know a Lymie and would still like to help I have a list of Lyme patients who want to purchase this book but due to treatment costs can't afford to do so. If you would like to bless them anonymously please contact me or leave a comment and I will message instructions!!

And finally: a portion of all proceeds of all of my Lyme book sales from this month will be donated to @globallymealliance ! Thank you for your support of not only my books but of Lyme patients around the world!

The Adventure Monthly Altered Planner (Undated)

May 19, 2018

Happy Saturday friends! Today I am so excited to share with you a fun and cute addition to the shop! This fun Monthly Altered Planner is now available for purchase! (You can find it HERE!)
I have always had an obsession with my planners since I was a young girl. I love to fill my planners with colorful writing, newspaper and magazine clippings that speak to me, quotes, pictures, treasured letters I receive, paint, and little delightful treasures such as fun paper clips!
This creates a beautiful keepsake that I can look back on and remember the beautiful and ordinary moments of life which are so special! These unique planners allow you to build on to the already embellished planner! It's time to start keeping track of precious moments and days!
Since I was a young girl I have kept hundreds of planners(no exaggeration!). Each of them is filled with different colors and paraphernalia. It makes me giggle to think back on what I felt was "important" to keep at the time and makes me grateful for a fun way to keep precious memories alive.
In many ways my planners become part of my journal collections.
This altered calendar has a hardcover that has a gorgeous pattern that matches the embellishments that have been used to alter the calendar. There are page for each month of the year and a page to write notes and remember important dates. In addition there is a place for notes at the back of the planner. The inside is filled with adorable embellishments including unique and one-of-a-kind ribbon, vintage ribbon, and beautiful coordinating washi tape and hand-sewn flowers reminding you live joyfully and beautifully.
This undated planner also has pockets for pictures and project life cards! I have included some hand-sewn cards with adorable buttons that match number to the month but there are still spaces for your own project life cards and pictures to be added!
The calendar is UNDATED but includes all of the months of the year so it can be purchased and used to start at any month or year.
If you are interested in this Monthly Altered Planner can find it HERE. Or if you are interested in looking at other tag and junk journals that are available in the shop you can find them in the Altered Planner section HERE.

Happy Saturday friends! I hope that you have a wonderful day with friends and family!!

How to Prepare for Your Golfing Trip

May 15, 2018

Before you embark on your golfing trip, it is important that you know what items to pack so your trip can go as smoothly as possible. Here are ways on how to prepare for your golfing trip.
Golf Equipment
Confident or casual golfers may decide to leave their expensive equipment at home, instead choosing to rent equipment to avoid any personal loss or damage. However, those who feel confident with their own personal equipment may want to pack all their necessities and favorite items. If you are planning to bring your own equipment, you will need to work out how you are going to take it with you. Large golfing items include golf clubs, golf shoes and a golf bag so it is important that you take into consideration the size of your equipment so that you can pack accordingly.
Appropriate Clothing
Before you leave for your golfing trip, it is best to look online at the weather forecast, so you can get a better idea on what type of temperature you will be playing in. If you are going to places that tend to rain and have poor weather, you will need to pack appropriate items like rain gear and jackets or sweaters, so you can have a comfortable experience and be prepared. The amount of clothing you bring on your golfing trip will depend on how long you are going away for. It is best to bring clothing to suit all weathers as temperatures can dip as the day goes on and you may need to put on a sweater to stay warm. Make sure that you count the rounds you aim to play so you can pack your outfits accordingly. You will also need to adhere to the golf courses dress code as some may require you to pack special clothing for dining or other evening events. Websites like Wheres My Caddie can give you more information on what type of golfing gear is best for you to take.
Personal Items
Just like with any trip, you will need to make a checklist of all the personal items you are going to bring with you. Make sure to not forget necessities such as your wallet/purse, credit card, cash and passport. Also, you will need to bring with you any tickets, receipts or confirmation numbers that may need to be validated once you get to your destination.
Electronics
There are also personal electronics that you may want to bring on your golfing trip. If you are planning to bring your camera, laptop or phone, ensure you bring all associated batteries and electrical chargers as well as storing them in a safe and secure place in your luggage. Some golf courses may not allow some gadgets or devices, so it is best to check beforehand to eliminate any problems.
Knowing what equipment and items to take with you before your golfing trip will help give you reassurance and help eliminate any problems that could arise.

This may be a sponsored post but all of the thoughts I agree with and match the tone of my blog .
