At the same time though, I have traveled enough while I fought for my health to know that you don't "leave" your sick body and automatically get a "new one" so it is important to understand and prepare ahead of time for any trip when you are chronically ill. Traveling takes a risk and a courage- especially when you don't feel well, but when I was sick I wanted to live as fully as possible despite being sick. I wanted to grab onto life and experience it and live bigger than my world of illness allowed.
I have never regretted this for one moment and know that it is a large part of the reason that I still love traveling today and going on adventures near and far away!
If you are looking for extra tips for your trip I shared a post a couple of years ago entitled 10 Tips for Enjoying Disneyworld with a Chronic Illness that may be helpful to read. I have also shared other chronic illness tips (those related to Disney and beyond) which I share at the bottom of this post!
One of the things that I really enjoyed at Epcot was having the opportunity to hang out with my friends up till the moment that they got on a ride that I couldn't ride. I see this happen a lot at Disney and it deserves to be mentioned here also. Epcot is great about this too! They encourage you to spend time with your loved ones and you can easily exit (without having to go back through the whole line) when your party goes to get on a ride. I know that at some theme parks this isn't an option, but at Epcot it is, and is wonderful that you don't miss out on time with people.
One of the unique parts of Epcot is the plethora of shows and presentations that are available to the visitor. For a lot of "spoonies" this can be a wonderful gift as it can give you a chance to sit down and rest a bit while you and your group are still enjoying the park!

Everyone needs to make healthcare decisions for themselves at some point or another. Hopefully, these shouldn’t come up too regularly, but you’ll still need to get them done. When you’re doing it, you’ll need to make the right decisions about your health. As obvious as that is, it’s often complicated.
With how confusing healthcare can be, a lot of the choices you might have to make could feel overwhelming. Nobody should have to settle for that, especially for something as important as health. It should be as easy as possible.
If you want to make the right decisions about your health, five specific steps are worth focusing on.
Make The Right Decisions About Your Health: 5 Top Steps
1. Think About Goals
Some people just want to be healthier, while others want to overcome a specific illness or issue. These can be considered your health goals, and you’ll need to spend some time and effort figuring out what yours are. It could be as simple as just getting rid of some niggling pains or minor issues.
Alternatively, you could have to deal with a chronic illness that can’t immediately be treated. In that case, your main goal could be being as comfortable as possible while treatment progresses. Figure out your goals and take your next steps based on this.
2. Be Informed
The better informed you are about your health, the better it’ll be for you overall. You’ll be in a much better position to actually make decisions about your health. That’s where most of the time and effort should be put into. Talk to your medical professionals as much as possible to find out what you can.
It’s also worth doing your own research on various areas, like the factors influencing hearing test results. The more information you have on hand, the better you can consider your options and pick the right one for you.
3. Consider Your Options
Speaking of considering your options, you’ll need to actually spend some time and effort on this. You’ll want to make sure it’s the right one for you, no matter what health issues you’re facing. Doing your research and talking to your medical professional are great ways to start with this.
While professional recommendations should always be considered, you’ll have to consider how the treatment could affect your overall lifestyle. Finances could also be an issue in this, so spend some time and effort weighing the pros and cons of each of your options. You’ll make the best decision for you because of it.
4. Have An Action Plan
There’ll come a point when you’ve come to a decision about your health, no matter what’s going on. Once you’ve reached this point, you’ll have to come up with an action plan, especially if you’re dealing with a major illness. Plan ahead for what you need to do to overcome the condition.
What treatments you’ll need, what kind of diet you might need to follow, and other factors will all play a role in this. By being informed, as highlighted above, you can make this much easier for yourself. You can put a game plan in place to move ahead with everything.
5. Share Your Decision
Once you’ve made decisions about your health, you’ll need to share them with some people. Your medical professionals will often be the first person you tell about the decision, as they could help you make it. There could be a few other people you should share it with, however.
Your close friends and family are the most notable of these. For any chronic or serious issues, they’ll be the ones you lean on for support and help. They can help make the process much easier than it’d be if you went about it alone. Make sure they know what’s going on.
Make The Right Decisions About Your Health: Wrapping Up
Trying to make the right decisions about your health seems complicated. Add in the stress associated with it because of how important it is, and it’s easy to see why you could be pulling your hair out. You shouldn’t have to put up with that. Instead, it could be much easier than you’d think with the right steps.
Being as informed as possible, having an action plan, and considering your options are all part of this. While it’ll still take a little bit of time and effort to make the right decisions about your health, you’ll be in a much better position to make the best choice for you.

One of the most frequently asked questions that I receive is how I traveled with a Chronic Illness and how I traveled in the past while I was very sick with Lyme and Cancer (and other health issues). 99% of the travels that I have done while blogging have been for work, and yet I still receive this question quite frequently. Today on the blog I wanted to share with y'all a few different posts that I have written that address this topic and hope that it will be an encouragement to those who are struggling with a chronic illness or chronic pain and long to travel.

Everyone wants their home to be warm when it's cold outside. If you can keep your home at a consistently comfortable temperature, it benefits you in so many ways. It's good for both your physical health and your mental health because you're not suffering the effects of feeling cold. Plus, it's good for your home, as it can prevent a range of problems. The only issue is that heating your home can be expensive. The more you do it, the higher your energy bills are likely to be. But can you keep your home cozy at all times without spending too much on energy?
Get the Perfect Temperature
If you want a cozy home without high energy bills, you first need to work out just how cozy it needs to be. Everyone has different temperatures that they prefer, but you need to consider if you really need it to be as high as you usually choose. If you're walking around your home wearing only a single layer of clothing and you still feel pretty warm, there's a good chance it's really too warm. You should feel comfortable, but there's no need to crank up the thermostat when you could be just as happy with it a few degrees lower.
Benefit from Renewable Energy
Renewable energy can really help you out if you want to save money. If you have the space and can afford to make an upfront investment, you might consider installing your own renewable energy solution for your home. However, there's also the option of community solar LMI schemes, which help more people to access solar energy. You don't need to have your own solar panels. You can benefit from solar energy generated by community solar panels, which provide you with credit on your energy account. You could lower your bills while also being eco-friendly.
Improve Insulation
It's not all about how you heat your home. It's also important to think about how to keep the heat in and the cold out. Insulation is essential to consider if you want to make sure your home is always cozy and warm. There are several types of insulation to take into account, including insulation in your roof, walls, and floors. You should also think about windows and doors, and how you can improve the insulation around them. Good insulation can help you save a lot of energy by making it easier to heat your home.
Move Your Furniture
Sometimes simple things can help to keep your home cozy without requiring too much energy. Moving your furniture around could be one of the things that help you to achieve your goal of an always cozy home. Make sure you're not covering up anything that gives out heat to ensure your heating is more effective. It's also a good idea to move furniture away from external walls because it can make you feel the cold from outside more.
A cozy home doesn't need to be expensive. If you want to keep your home warm, you can do so while saving money.
