A Lighthouse Adventure on Prince Edward Island // Canada

October 21, 2021

Happy Thursday friends! I am excited to spend the next couple of weeks sharing with y'all some recap posts from the girls trip that I took four years ago through New England, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia (along with some new posts from this time that I never shared also!)! I hope that it encourages you to consider taking a road trip (in part or in whole depending on your circumstances) this fall to these beautiful places in the world.

Happy Wednesday friends! As I shared last week, I am so excited to share more about our time on Prince Edward Island, specifically today sharing more about our day that we spent on all things related to "Anne"! I know for a lot of people visiting the island this is one of the main reasons and so I hope that these posts are helpful in planning your own trip someday soon!
As I shared last week we started our "Anne" day (after waking up at the wonderful Montgomery Inn at Ingleside!) at the Anne of Green Gables Museum (which you can read more about our visit and the museum HERE!). After this we drove over to Green Gables and on the way we had a brief visit at L.M. Montgomery's Birthplace (which you can read about HERE). Like many girls who grew up loving "Anne" and her adventures we found visiting the Green Gables home to be delightful (which you can read about HERE!). After our time exploring the house we decided to walk along the trails that are at Green Gables (which you can read about HERE!)

After we left Green Gables and grabbed a quick bite to eat we headed out on an adventure in hopes of finding the lighthouse that was filmed when Anne and Diana are walking and talking in Anne of Green Gables.
Let me be honest. We were told it would be easy to find. It's not. *smiles*

To reach the lighthouse (the New London Range Rear Lighthouse) it is a bit of an adventure (which I personally loved, but I know not all will). It is not marked at all, you basically off-road for a bit in your car, and then you feel like you are parking in someones driveway when you finally arrive. And then it is long walk through the fields (the path is not kept up)...

and it is worth every second.
It was honestly one of my favorite things we did on the island.
There was just something so special about this adventure.
First, it was absolutely gorgeous.
Second, it felt like you had the whole part of the island in this region to yourself. Ali and I both felt that we were actually experiencing a movie moment as we walked, talked, laughed, and explored the area without any tourists.
Third, you feel like you are transported to a different era. For all of y'all who are going on a girls trip to Prince Edward Island take the time to go here. And seriously, wear long skirts or dresses. You will feel that you have walked into a different era.
Fourth, if you walk a bit past the lighthouse you can go to the beach and see the ocean. It is absolutely stunning from this area.
Fifth, there is something so incredibly precious about this lighthouse. It truly is off the beaten path in Prince Edward Island and worth every single moment to get there if you have a car.
Sixth, it is the perfect place for kindred spirits to laugh, talk, and make precious and life-long memories! When you take the girls trip to Prince Edward Island make sure to grab some pictures of this precious place and time! You will definitely treasure it forever.

Thanks for reading about our adventure at the Lighthouse on Prince Edward Island! If you are interested in reading more from my recent trip through New EnglandNew BrunswickPrince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia, you can read all of the posts from the trip by clicking on the links below:
