How to Boost Your Mood Instantly

June 10, 2022

 caravan sonnet

Everyone goes through periods where they are not feeling their best. If you're currently going through one of those stages in your life you may be wondering how you can get out of your current mood and start enjoying life.

Getting out of your current state of mind may not be as difficult as you think, no matter what the situation. Here are some of the easiest and best ways in which you can boost your mood instantly.

Laugh

It is often said that laughter is the best medicine. It may sound cliche but making a conscious effort to laugh every day is a great way to boost your mood instantly.

So how can you start laughing once again, try watching a comedy, or going out into nature. The beauty of your surroundings and even the animals that you see, may be just what you need to start laughing and smiling again.

Journaling

If you are not journaling or if you haven't tried journaling in a while then you should. It is one of the best ways to express yourself and to speak freely about whatever is on your mind.

Journaling allows you to release your emotions and find solutions to your problems. Getting things out of your head and onto paper has been proven as an effective method to psychologically boost your outlook on life.

You can buy a journal and write your thoughts out on pen and paper or you can use a digital journal. Digital journals have become very popular in recent years as many of them come in the form of apps.

This means you can carry your journal with you wherever you go. As long as you have internet service you can start writing your thoughts whenever you feel the need.

There are also courses you can take online to help you feel better about life. You can check out some of these courses at participating retailers, to help you get on the right track.

Exercise

You probably know that you should exercise. However, if you are not doing it then it is worth mentioning here. Exercising releases endorphins which will instantly put you in a better mood.

Often the reason why many people don't exercise is because they simply are not motivated to start. It may seem overwhelming.

If you break up your exercise goals into smaller pieces you may find them more doable. For example, if you go on YouTube you will find several 10-minute exercises that you can do.

You could do 10 minutes of exercise in the morning and another 10 minutes in the afternoon. At the end of the day, you would have exercised for 20 minutes, if you did this four times a week you would have exercised for 80 minutes the entire week.

Breaking up your exercise regime in this way makes it doable and less intimidating.

Take Care of You

If you have found yourself in a bad mood lately, taking care of yourself is something that you must make a priority.

Take the time to laugh, journal your thoughts, and exercise. You may find that this is all you need to start feeling great again.

fitbit versa 2 review

 caravan sonnet

*photo is not the property of caravan sonnet, found on internet, used with permission*

Nearly 18 months ago I made a purchase that I have been excited to share and review for y'all here on the blog. This is in no way a sponsored post, but something that I wanted to use and then share if I found it helpful. I purchased the fitbit versa 2 and have been loving it and wanted to share about if for those who might be interested also!

As my health has continued to stabilize and I have healed more and more from my fight for my life, one of the things that I was looking forward to doing was improving my cardio and walking more steps each day. During the fight for my life, the most important thing was movement as I was primarily bed ridden, which I fought to do each day. Then came some huge milestones that y'all have followed over the years, including learning to walk again, the beginning hiking tales, learning to ski, learning to run, and continuing to improve with more movement. All of this took place over the course of many years (as many of you know).

But as I returned to work and returned to starting life again, I started to realize that I needed to build up my energy and build up my steps in some different ways so I needed a way to track these steps. I tried a variety of cheap and different step trackers (a total waste of money y'all- do not do it!) and was thrilled to find that the fitbit versa would track my steps accurately.

The price was a little expensive (it is approximately $114) but the cost of it has been priceless as it has worked with no problems, and it is easy to use.

I can't say enough good things about this tracker. For me it does exactly what I want it to do- keeps track of my steps, is lightweight, and I love the look of the big face of it also. If you are looking for a fitbit tracker to track your different steps I can't recommend this enough! Let me know if y'all have any questions! I would be happy to answer them!

If you would like to purchase it you can click HERE to go directly to the fitbit versa 2!

Essential Things To Consider When Building Your Dream Home

June 7, 2022

Everybody wishes to live in their perfect dream house, and statistics show that about 80% of Americans love their homes. Building your dream home is possibly one of the most expensive endeavors you will go through. It can be stressful, too, especially since you want the results to meet your vision. Nonetheless, getting to build your dream home is a fantastic opportunity. But there are certain key factors that you need to consider before you start building. Here’s what you need to know.

  1. Your budget

Your dream of becoming a homeowner can be destroyed if you do not budget well for it. Before contacting contractors and researching areas, you need to draw up a solid financial plan that gives a detailed breakdown of your home building project. Your costs will vary depending on the size of your home, your preferred location, building contractors, and quality. Although your budget may not give you the precise cost of the project, it gives a fair idea of how much you would need to have or would most likely spend. This also gives you the opportunity to explore various financing options available to you and the best decisions to make.

  1. Your needs and preferences

There are a couple of questions you need to ask yourself before building your dream home. Why are you building a home? How big or small should it be? These questions will guide you when you’re making decisions concerning your home.

The first thing you need to do is have a checklist of ideas or needs and ensure that you go over these needs with your building contractors. With this information, they will have more insight into the type of house you are building and how they can build it to meet your specifications. Your needs should include the number of people who will live in your home, the number of rooms, the purpose of the home (for living or vacations), and any other specifications.

  1. Building materials

Now that you’re on the same page with your building contractors, it’s time to consider which materials would work best for your home. Picking the right tools and materials will save you from any future mishaps and overspending. Of course, your choice of building materials will depend on the type of construction method and your budget. You must ask yourself which building materials would give your home the look you are trying to achieve. For example, would you want to use wood, concrete, or steel framing?

You can also ask your building contractor for their expert advice on the type of materials you would need for your dream home if you are uncertain or not too familiar with construction. However, it always helps to do a little research to gain more insight.

Everybody wants to live in their dream home. But you will need to take slow and steady steps to ensure that you reach that goal. That means carefully considering crucial factors before starting this project. These tips should set you in the right direction.

3 Psychological Risks To Consider When You Start Your Own Business

June 6, 2022

According to a survey run by Digital.com, over 40% of Americans plan to start a business in 2022. Among those who have already launched their side hustle venture, more than half of new entrepreneurs plan to quit their 9-to-5 jobs within the next year to concentrate fully on their business. These exciting figures show that the pandemic has not tamed the American entrepreneurial spirit one bit!

However, the survey forgets to mention how many new businesses fail. Indeed, more and more Americans take preventive steps when starting a venture. It isn't uncommon to take business classes to prepare ahead for the task of becoming an entrepreneur. As a result, most people who are considering starting a company already have:

  • A business plan

  • Some level of market research

  • Financing solution

Indeed, lack of strategy, market understanding, and capital are the top three most frequently cited reasons for a business collapse. However, there are psychologically-influenced risks that new entrepreneurs need to prepare for:

Learning to take responsibility

We've all been there as a child: You've been goofing around at home, and suddenly, you broke your mother's vase. Taking responsibility is a difficult skill to learn. But if, as a child, you confessed the mishap and apologized to your parents for breaking the vase, you probably already understood the concept of responsibility. For businesses, it is the same phenomenon. Owning your faults and trying to make amends is the hardest lesson you've got to learn. Thankfully, businesses can rely on their liability insurance policy — you can turn to a platform such as coterie, to find the right policy for you — to help cover the costs. As a business, it's essential to secure the relevant insurance policy for your needs so you can compensate customers for issues. Otherwise, it could affect your reputation and credibility.

Managing stress

Let's be honest: Working for yourself is stressful. As an entrepreneur, you are likely to face new stressors, so it's important to identify them so you can find the most appropriate responses. Learning relaxation techniques can be a game-changer when you manage a company. Stress is the number one killer for entrepreneurs, so it's certainly not something you can take lightly. You can build a supportive network to help you, such as a team of talented advisors, business mentors, and even a counselor.

Learning to focus on your audience group

Running a business is not the right career choice for people pleasers. Indeed, an entrepreneur must learn to make decisions that will likely cause the displeasure of some. It's important to be clear about your audience group from the start because you can't please everyone.

Trying to meet the expectation of a broad audience can affect your brand reputation, messaging, and profitability. Therefore, you must be ready to neglect a portion of the market that doesn't meet your customers' persona. Too many small businesses lose themselves in an effort to attract a wide audience, which means they compete against a variety of other companies.

In conclusion, psychological factors such as high stress, lack of responsibility, and the desire to please everyone, can have a dramatic consequence on your entrepreneurial aspirations. If you are considering launching a business this year, take time to focus on your entrepreneur's personality too!

5 Reasons You Might Be Feeling Low

June 2, 2022

We all have days when we don’t feel like getting out of bed. But sometimes you might wonder why you’re feeling especially down or sad. If you aren’t feeling your usual self, you should always speak to a healthcare professional. Here are five reasons you might be feeling low, and how they can impact your emotions.

Hormonal Changes

Both men and women go through several hormonal shifts in their lifetime. Women might feel low at the same time every month, or during pregnancy. Men actually experience a drop in testosterone levels from March to May, leading to mood changes and irritability. Occasionally, your doctor may identify a hormonal condition as the root cause of your low mood. For men, they might recommend you look for ‘TRT therapy near me’, while women might be referred for HRT treatment.

Lack Of Sleep

At least 70% of Americans have one bad night of sleep each month. You wake up the next morning feeling irritable, sleep-deprived, and ready to stay in bed. Sleep links directly to mood, and we need at least 7-9 hours of sleep each night to maintain regular body functions. A lack of sleep impacts our ability to think clearly and regulate our mood.

Stimulants

Stimulants refer to a number of substances that temporarily increase the dopamine levels in your body. Dopamine is a chemical produced in your brain that when released, makes you feel good. Stimulants can include illegal or harmful substances like drugs, all the way through to more accepted stimulants like caffeine. They boost the dopamine levels in your body artificially, leading you to feel good for a short period of time due to a dopamine spike. However, when the stimulant has left your body and your dopamine levels crash, it can cause your mood to crash with it.

Burnout

Is your work feeling like too much at the moment? You might be experiencing burnout. If you are feeling tired or drained in your job, you might need to take some time off to replenish your resources. Symptoms of burnout include feeling overwhelmed, cynical, or wanting to procrastinate. A recent Deloitte study revealed that as many as 84% of millennials report experiencing burnout.

Big Life Events

You might think that big life events like weddings and house moves are happy affairs - and they are. But any big life change, positive or negative, can cause extreme stress. Have you ever heard of Olympians that finally win their gold medal and then feel extremely low? Big life events can have a lot of build-up and then before you know it, it’s all over. The feeling of loss afterward can be unexpected and hard to deal with.

All Of The Above

You might find it hard to pinpoint why you’re feeling low. Several different, smaller, situations can have a bigger impact on you than you expected. The main thing is that you take a bit of time to look after yourself, practice self-care, and speak to a healthcare professional to get some advice and support. Remember that many of us feel low in our lifetime, and you are not alone.

Tips On How to Deal With Loneliness

We've all been there at one time or another. Feeling lonely and isolated, like we're the only person in the world who feels that way. It's a terrible feeling, and for some people, it can be quite debilitating. In this blog post, we will discuss seven tips on how to deal with loneliness. We'll talk about ways to find support, how to connect with others, and how to keep yourself occupied when you're feeling lonely. We hope that this information will help you find relief from your loneliness and allow you to live a fuller life!

1) Finding Support

When you're feeling lonely, it's important to find people who understand and can relate to what you're going through. Talk to your close friends and family members about how you're feeling, and let them know that you need their support. If you don't have anyone in your life who can offer support, many online communities can provide guidance and understanding.

No one should have to suffer through loneliness alone! There are plenty of people and resources out there who can help you get through this tough time.

2) Get Involved In Your Community

There are many ways to do this, such as volunteering, attending local events, or joining a club or group. Getting involved in your community can help you meet new people and make friends. It can also help you feel more connected to the world around you.

When you're feeling lonely, it's easy to isolate yourself and become disconnected from the world. Getting involved in your community can help combat those feelings and make you feel like you belong somewhere.

Examples of communities you can get involved in:

  • religious or spiritual organizations

  • sports teams or clubs

  • charities or fundraisers

  • neighborhood associations

  • political groups

  • hobby groups

Joining a community can help you feel less alone and more connected to the world around you. It's a great way to make friends and combat loneliness!

3) Spend Time With Animals

Animals are great companions and can help reduce feelings of loneliness. Consider volunteering at a local animal shelter if you don't have a pet. Spending time with animals can be very therapeutic and is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air.

Animal shelters are always in need of volunteers to help take care of the animals. If you're feeling lonely, consider spending some time at your local animal shelter! You'll get to spend time with cute furry friends while helping out a good cause.

Plus, studies have shown that interacting with animals can lower stress levels, blood pressure, and anxiety. So not only will you be reducing your own feelings of loneliness, but you'll also be improving your overall health!

If you're up for the task, you could even consider getting your own puppy or kitten. Caring for a pet can help reduce feelings of loneliness and improve your mental health. Just be sure that you're ready for the responsibility before taking the plunge! Consider getting in touch with LUCKYLABS or a similar company to sort you out with a companion.

4) Get Involved In A Hobby

Hobbies are a great way to keep yourself occupied and can help reduce feelings of loneliness. When you're feeling lonely, try to find an activity that you enjoy and can lose yourself in. Some examples of hobbies that can help combat loneliness are:

  • knitting or crocheting

  • reading

  • playing video games

  • painting or drawing

  • hiking or nature walks

  • writing

Doing something that you enjoy can help take your mind off of your loneliness and make you feel more fulfilled. It's also a great way to meet new people if you join a club or group related to your hobby. There are many ways to get involved in hobbies, so there's sure to be one that's perfect for you!

5) Exercise

Exercise is a great way to improve your mental health and reduce feelings of loneliness. It can help increase endorphins (feel-good chemicals in the brain), boost self-esteem, and provide a sense of accomplishment. If you don't enjoy working out alone, consider joining a sports team or taking group fitness classes. There are many ways to get involved in an exercise, so find one that's right for you!

It's also a great way to meet new people if you join a sports team or take group fitness classes. There are many ways to get involved in exercise, so find one that's right for you! You could consider trying out different sports until you find one you like or joining a local running club.

6) Connect With Old Friends

Sometimes, the best way to combat loneliness is to reach out to old friends. If you've lost touch with someone, now is the perfect time to reconnect! Send them a message on social media or give them a call. It's always great to catch up with old friends and hear about what they've been up to. Often, we find that we have more in common with old friends than we realized.

7) Make New Friends

Making new friends can be daunting, but it's worth it! There are many ways to meet new people, such as through work, school, or hobbies. Once you find someone you click with, try to make plans to hang out on a regular basis. It's important to put yourself out there and make an effort to meet new people.

If you're not good at making conversation at first, try to find common interests. Once you find something you have in common, it'll be easier to start a conversation. Also, don't be afraid to be yourself! The more genuine you are, the more likely it is that you'll make lasting friendships. You could also consider practicing a few conversation starter topics before meeting new people, such as the weather, current events, or sports.

In conclusion, loneliness can be a difficult thing to deal with. However, there are many things that you can do to combat it. Reach out to old friends, make new ones, get involved in hobbies, and exercise regularly. These are just a few of the many things that you can do to reduce feelings of loneliness. Do what works for you, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Remember, you're not alone in this!
