Recommendations for south-central Alaskan Road Trip

February 13, 2018

Happy Tuesday y'all! I hope that you are having a wonderful start to the week! Today's travel post is a bit different: I am looking for some suggestions and ideas for an upcoming writing and blogging trip that I am taking in the next couple of months!

You may remember that I shared back in August a post about why you should dream about visiting Alaska. It is a dream that has been deeply ingrained in my heart for almost a decade and I am so excited that it is part of my work schedule this year.

Last summer on Instagram I shared a picture about the beginning planning stages and it is so exciting to see how all of the details are coming together. But this is where y'all come in! I always get the BEST ideas from this community and I would love to have any recommendations and suggestions for the trip.

This trip is going to be a road trip throughout south-central Alaska (I can't wait to go back and explore other areas in the future!) and will include a couple of days in Anchorage, time in Girdwood, a couple of days in Seward, and a couple of days in Homer.

Anyone have any ideas or recommendations? We would love tips for places to see along the way, eat (extra points for places that have gluten free menus!), and stay! Our time will be brief (obviously) but any tips and suggestions would be welcome y'all! Also - are there any particular travel books anyone would recommend? I have been using THIS ONE by Fodor's and THIS ONE by Moon (which has been AWESOME!)!

If you are a business that would like to collaborate on this project you can contact me with a proposal by sending an email HERE, or find out more about working with me on a travel collaboration HERE

Thanks so much y'all! I can't wait to hear every one's fabulous ideas!

  1. Such a fun trip!!! I'm so excited for you! I've always wanted to visit Alaska (and Hawaii!) but I don't want to visit until Andy gets out of the Army, just in case we get stationed there someday!

  2. Never been near Alaska but it sounds like quite an adventure. All the best on your trip when you go Rebecca.
