If you love camping but you want to make it a little more special, comfortable and enjoyable, then you might well want to try out something known as glamping. If you haven’t looked into this already, glamping is quite simply camping but done in a more glamorous manner - and it just so happens to be one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a weekend - or more - that you might come across.
But how do you get into it, and what makes a trip glamping rather than camping? In this post, we are going to look at some advice on how to go glamping for the first time, so you can ensure that you are doing it right and enjoying it as fully as possible.
Understand What Glamping Is
Before you do anything else, it’s a good idea to try and get to grips with what exactly glamping is. If you are not sure or you haven’t really come across it before, then you should know that it’s actually quite simple and straightforward. Essentially, it is just a way of going camping so that you can be as luxurious and comfortable as possible, and as you might be able to appreciate that is definitely a much more enjoyable way to camp than you might be used to.
Glamping has been around for a few years now, and you might have heard a lot about it. There is plenty posted about it on social media, but remember: the main thing is that you are doing all you can to make it as enjoyable and comfortable as possible, as that is all that really matters here. Let’s now look in some detail at how you can ensure you are getting into glamping in the right way, and enjoying it as much as you would hope.
Finding The Perfect Spot
With any camping trip, you will obviously want to be careful about which spot you choose, as you need to make sure that you are going to be able to enjoy it as much as possible. But with glamping, the destination is even more important, because some spots are going to be so much more comfortable than other ones, so you do need to put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring that you choose the right one for your needs.
So how do you find the perfect spot? First of all, think about looking out for places that are clearly designed to be good for glamping. There are a lot of campsites and similar places now that advertise themselves in exactly this way, so they are going to be worth looking into at the very least. You might want to go glamping in Oregon, for instance, in which case there are plenty of great glamping spots that you can choose between. If you want to be really sure that you are choosing well, check out their websites, call ahead and find out as much as you can.
Once you have found the perfect spot, you are going to be much more likely to feel ready for your camping trip, and you’ll be able to get ready for glamping for the first time a lot more easily.
Choose A Type Of Accommodation
The thing about glamping is you are not necessarily going to be in a tent - in fact, you are probably not going to be doing it that way! There are so many other types of accommodation on offer, and many which offer incredible amounts of comfort, so it’s really important that you are at least aware of these if you are keen to ensure your glamping experience goes off without a hitch.
For instance, you might choose to stay in a safari tent, which is a little like a large tent but with canvas walls, ensuring extra heat and comfort the whole night through. These often have separate rooms and are therefore a much more spacious option when compared to a normal camping tent. In a sense, it is a semi-permanent structure, and you might even have a kitchen and a bathroom in there too.
Alternatively, perhaps you will consider a yurt. These have been popping up all over the world with glamping becoming so popular, and they are incredibly comfortable things to stay in for sure. A yurt is a round, wooden-framed structure that is much sturdier than a tent, and the really luxurious ones often even have electricity as well as kitchens and bathrooms. Or if you prefer to go a little more rustic than that, you might opt for a simpler one that just provides a bed. Either way, it is still very comfortable compared to normal camping, so it’s something to consider.
Then there is the famous tipi, which is similar to a yurt but smaller, meaning it is easier to heat and to cool down as necessary. You will find that there are plenty of campgrounds which have tipis as a glamping option, so it’s something to keep your eye out for as you are looking for somewhere to stay.
Some places also now set up luxurious homes in the form of treehouses. If you want a glamping experience that will take you back to your youthful days of tree-climbing, then this is the option for you. In some cases, these treehouses can be so luxurious that you won’t even feel like you are camping at all, which is what some glampers are going for here!
As you can see, there are a lot of options when it comes to choosing your accommodation for glamping. There are many others which we have not listed here yet too. Whatever you do, just make sure that you are choosing well, and that you are happy with where you are sleeping, as that is going to make the whole experience a lot better for you in a lot of ways. Once you have decided on this, you will find that much else simply falls into place for you.
Pack For Comfort
The other main thing you need to do is to make sure you are packing for comfort, as this is going to be hugely important in ensuring that the glamping experience is as special as possible. If you are comfortable enough with what you have, then that is going to make a huge difference to the experience. So what might you want to pack in order to ensure that this is going to be the case for you?
First of all, ensure that you have plenty with you to keep warm, no matter what the temperature might dip to. If you are not kept warm, that is the quickest way for the experience to be ruined. Secondly, you need to think about what you are going to sleep in, and it might be that you want to have extra blankets and pillows just in case. The more of this kind of stuff that you have with you, the more likely it is that you will feel comfortable and relaxed, so that is important to bear in mind here.
If you’re choosing accommodation that means you’re self-sustaining then you’ll need to take a camping stove, some sort of cool box for perishables, and premium knives for cooking (and any other situations like cutting rope you may need it for). Remember to take foods that are less likely to perish to avoid any food poisoning.
Beyond that, you should ensure that you have thought about toiletries - as if you don’t have everything you need here, it could really make things a lot more difficult for you, and you are much less likely to be truly comfortable.
Those are just some of the main things to think about in order to ensure that your first glamping experience is as it should be. With this in place, you should have a great time.
It’s a little odd to think about it, but living a healthy lifestyle can be tough. In theory, it sounds too simple. In theory, the rules are; getting enough sleep each night, exercising almost every day, staying stress-free, eating whole foods, and tracking your calories. It sounds incredibly straightforward, but the average person knows in practice, that this can be though. For instance, you can’t exactly control your stress levels if your environment or other people are causing all of this stress. You can’t always eat salads when you’re scheduling is tight or if you’re limited on food.
But with that said, on some of the things you can control, you should try to look into how you can at least enjoy having a healthier lifestyle. Oftentimes, people switch to living more healthily as a punishment. They’re gained weight, well, to counteract that, they’ll choose the healthy way to lose that weight. But a healthy life isn’t all about punishments, in fact, it shouldn’t be at all. It’s all about changing your perspective. So here are some ways to do just that.
Find fun ways to keep yourself active
The first way is to get up and walk around for a few minutes every hour. This will help you stay focused on your work, clear your head, and prevent you from getting too tired. It’s important to take breaks from your work and do something fun during the day. This will help keep you engaged in what you do, prevent burnout, and make sure that you don’t lose interest in what you are doing.
Whether you’re choosing to walk for a couple of minutes or maybe you’re choosing to opt for something fun, you’re going to need to enjoy this. So why not find something you know you’ll like such as an exercise video game, bike ride, trampoline, or maybe even a fun Zumba class at your local gym. You can’t exactly get over the mental hurdle of exercise if you’re just not enjoying it.
Healthy living is mostly a mental challenge
Healthy living is a mental challenge that often seems easier said than done. It can be easy to fall into the trap of unhealthy habits and feel like you are never going to reach your goal. However, if you keep pushing yourself and stay on track, it is possible to overcome any obstacle and create a healthy lifestyle for yourself. Once you truly realize that it’s mostly your mind that doesn’t want to exercise, or it’s your mind that is making you crave sweets, it becomes much easier to live a healthier lifestyle.
Mental health is just as important as physical health
Mental health can be an overlooked topic, especially when it comes to physical health. However, mental health is just as important as physical health, and we should take care of all aspects of our lives. Never neglect your mental health, there is nothing wrong with you if you believe that you are going to need therapy. Mental health is common and it’s finally getting the recognition that it deserves. This is just as important as your physical health, and at all costs, try to not ignore it.
Think of healthy foods as nourishment
While that tasty cheeseburger can be incredibly tempting compared to a salad, you’re going to need to keep in mind that you’re nourishing your body with healthy foods. It’s a gift to be able to give your body the healthy foods that it wants and deserves. So why not think of it more from that perspective? Of course, you can still indulge in junk food every once in a while but giving yourself the gift of healthy foods is something that should never be considered a punishment at all.
Give up the caffeine
It’s not just caffeine, but you should try to teach yourself to not be to heavily reliant on certain things such as cigarettes, alcohol, or just anything too much, Basically, if you have some type of addiction, It’s going to need to be dropped. Both your body and mind will thank you for doing this. Besides, this is mostly just a mental trial. It’s not healthy, and if you want to enjoy living a healthy lifestyle, you’re going to have to keep in mind that it is mostly just a mental challenge.
Exercise daily with a goal in mind
Exercise routines become more complicated as we age and our health declines. It is especially important for seniors who are at higher risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, dementia, and obesity. Daily routine exercise plans can help you stay on track with your goals by providing you with a daily workout plan that fits your schedule. They also provide guidance on how to modify the plan as necessary.
Another thing, exercise is needed every day, whether you do something light or heavy. Exercise is more of a mental challenge. You can easily take your body to the gym, but it’s your mind saying “maybe later”. Have some goals, stick to them, and keep in mind how much power that exercise has. While exercise can’t necessarily fight Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, it hands-down can at least keep your immune system strong.
Learn new things to keep yourself learning and enjoying life's journey
Every day is a new day, so why not just embrace it? It’s not all about physical health, as mental health is important too. People like to learn, and you should strive to learn something new every day. There are many ways to keep yourself learning and enjoying life’s journey. One way is to learn new skills and discover new interests.
People can learn new things to keep themselves learning and enjoying life's journey. It is important to stay on top of what is happening in the world so that we can keep up with the latest trends and changes. Learning also means new perspectives on life, and this is something that can certainly be considered very powerful.
Psychotherapy is one of the main treatment options that people consider when suffering from mental health problems like anxiety. Simply put, this is a type of therapy that involves sitting down and talking to a therapist. They may psychoanalyze you and listen to what you’re saying, trying to find meaning behind your words.
The question is, is this a good treatment option for you?
Well…yes and no.
We are lucky that we live in a world that has so many different mental health services for us to use to get treatment for things like anxiety. As a result, certain treatments and solutions will work better for you than others. The success rate of therapy depends on various factors, so let’s take a look at when it can be good, and when it can be bad:
When therapy is good
The act of seeing a therapist will instantly mean you’re addressing your issue. You’re opening up about anxiety, which is always a positive step. If you have a good relationship with your therapist, this can be the best way for you to talk about your problems. Your therapy sessions leave you feeling way better because you get so much off your chest.
Likewise, you have a great therapist who understands you and treats you as an individual. They get to know what you’re like, which is why they’re able to give such great advice or insights. You actively enjoy seeing them because you know the sessions will be productive. As a consequence, you may already see some benefits and a reduction in anxiety.
When therapy is bad
On the other hand, therapy can be bad for some people. Primarily, the biggest problem is when therapists don’t take the time to understand the individual. They treat all patients the same, meaning you don’t get bespoke advice. The things they say feel irrelevant to you, making you feel super frustrated.
You don’t get along with them, so you start dreading your therapy sessions. Even worse, you start to feel more anxious because you’ve tried to get help but it hasn’t worked.
How to know if therapy will be right for you
So, how will you know if psychotherapy works for you? Well, the only way to know is by giving it a go. Do a lot of research beforehand and ask around for any therapist recommendations. When you find someone that has loads of excellent reviews, book a few sessions to see how they go. Don’t be frustrated or upset if you don’t get anything out of the sessions. Here, you can just admit to yourself that therapy isn’t for you.
And that’s okay! Don’t feel forced to have therapy because you suffer from anxiety. There are lots of other treatments and daily habits you can employ to help you cope with your mental health disorder. One of the biggest reasons that people struggle to deal with things like anxiety and depression is that they get forced into doing stuff. They feel forced to see a therapist or take medication when these things might not work for them.
Always focus on yourself. Find out what works and what doesn’t, and you will be in a much better place.
