While I was so honored to be offered a contract again with Concord, there are some HUGE changes coming up and I look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks, but for today... it is a day of extreme humility as I ponder and store up and remember in my heart all that God has done.

Happy Monday friends! I have been receiving so many questions about how teaching is finishing up for this first year and I am truly so humbled by these questions. Thank you so much for your continued interest in this area of my life.
It's been a whirlwind here at the end as the seniors finished their last day of classes on May 14th (read my thoughts HERE), classes for my sophomores finished on Friday, and we had graduation on Saturday! You can see all of the stories of graduation by clicking HERE on the graduation stories!
After graduation was a reception (you can find those stories and pictures HERE) and then I was sweetly invited to join Deborah's family and friends for a lovely dinner and then headed to Harley's house for an open house. It was a full day of love and celebrating these people that I love so very much.
As this school year comes to a close I look forward to sharing more with y'all about some upcoming changes and exciting news. In the meantime thank you so much for your continued prayers and your constant love and support, especially in this week ahead as we approach the 2nd anniversary of losing my precious daddy.

Yesterday began the fourth quarter of the school year. I am beyond amazed at how this is has already arrived. In many ways the year has been difficult for so many obvious reasons (with the loss of my precious Ba, the loss of of all of the items from pre-sickness days, and so many more personal moments behind the scenes) and yet it has been a precious year in so many ways.
So, hello 4th quarter of this school year... please go slowly because I am confident that this is going to be the most precious quarter ever with some amazing days ahead.

From the moment that I stepped into this room I felt like it was holy ground. The first thing I did was take a moment to pray with tears at where I was after nearly a decade of fighting for my life. I prayed that this year...the year of returning to teaching and seeing a dream fulfilled (after 8 years away due to my extreme fight for my health and life against Advanced Late Stage Lyme Disease and Cancer) would be an incredibly special year.....
What I didn't know was just how special it would be which is all because of the students I spend life with each day...
I have learned in new and deep ways that everyone needs a sacred place where our roots can grow deep and where we feel like we have a refuge (or a crying closet haha). Laughter, deep conversations, and life have happened here and it has been humbling, amazing, and beyond incredible to experience this year together. I love you guys deeply. Thank you for making F112 an incredibly sacred place that I love coming to everyday.
All people need a place that gives wings to their dreams, nurturing possibilities of who they might become. //Sally Clarkson//

We "started" yesterday with an in-service day and I spent the day transitioning my room from Christmas decor to winter decor. I am excited to show y'all more after today (I wanted to keep it a surprise for the students until they came to the room because there are some BIG changes)!

As some of you know, this summer I accepted a teaching position at a local school!! To be heading back again after NINE long & the most extremely painful years away brings a wave of various emotions with lots of thankful & overwhelming tears.
To be at this stage of healing is a gift that leaves me speechless...especially when at one point I had doctors from some of the most well-known medical clinics/hospitals in the world telling me there was no hope for life, walking again or eating normally (without a feeding tube)...to let alone that I would never be able to return to a school again in a teaching position. (One doctor called this dream "ridiculous in thinking".)
Walking into my classroom on Monday, my precious daddy's birthday, was truly a full circle moment as he fought so hard to get me to this place. I stood in my room & wept. I know he is rejoicing right now & cheering me on.
I also humbly remember so many of you who have been walking this journey with me for 9 incredibly long years. It may be me holding this sign with happy tears, but to each of you who have faithfully prayed over the years, stood by me & my family in this journey, to the nurses at UVM - "Courtney" & I weep with gratitude, to those who have donated money to various go fund me campaigns over the years, to the letters, emails, texts, & "just the right" words at the right time, the list is never ending & to each of my doctors ...& to my main medical team all of y'all - I love you...Dr.J... I am indebted forever for you helping save my life. Thank you.
Thank you for rejoicing in this new season, for your continued prayers for me & my health

Rilla of Ingleside, the 8th book in the popular "Anne of Green Gables" series tells the story of Anne's 14-year old daughter, Rilla. During this sweet coming of age book, Rilla dreams of her first dance and hoping for her first kiss but her life is disrupted and changed when her brother's go leave to fight in the "Great War". Originally published in 1921, L.M. Montgomery brings to light the way the war shaped and affected family members during this time.
The Guns of August, a Pulitzer Prize-winning book, by Barbara W. Tuchman, tells the story of the first month of World War I. Weaving historical details and characters, Tuchman shares the importance of the first 30 days of the summer of 1914 that will determine the course of the war.
TWL is committed to giving back to the community through The Novel Garden. Each month there will be a book of the month to read that will coincide with the time frame + focus that is being highlighted.
