Happy Tuesday friends! Today I am so excited to share a bit more about my experiences with shopping and exploring the Zulily website. To be honest I had never spent much time on Zulily before. Years ago I ordered one item off the website and then never did return to try shopping again. My experience at the time was good, but for some reason whenever I go to do some online bargain shopping, I never think immediately of Zulily. Honestly, after these last few days of looking around the website that will forever change in the future!
One of the things that surprised me the most as I browsed the Zulily website was all of the different products that were offered from such a wide variety of brands. There were tons of different brands in all of the categories- from fashion brands to house products to crafting supplies. I am confident that if you are searching for some specific things for any area of your life you could easily find what you are looking for on Zulily at a discounted rate. Each day there are thousands of new items added at 6am and this provides a fun (daily) browsing opportunity!
One my favorite items was this adorable navy dress from ModCloth. This dress originally retails for $99.99 but is available on Zulily for $37.99! I love that it is the perfect dress for the rest of the summer and is the perfect transition piece to fall and would even be perfect for some upcoming holiday parties. You can find it HERE!
It has NEVER been a secret on this blog how much I love the company Joules. So imagine my delight and surprise when I found that Zulily carries many different Joules products at a HUGE discounted rate. These rain boots are some of my favorites (remember my red pair that I love?!?)! But there tare tons of other Joules boots and products too that are available for a huge discount. You can find these rain boots HERE.
Another favorite thing that I found that I loved on the Zulily website was this cute flirty dress from ModCloth. It reminds me of the dress that Kate Middleton wore the day after her wedding as she and Prince William were walking around the palace gardens. It is so cute and I love the Indigo color! I plan on ordering this dress and taking it with me for my upcoming trip to Prince Edward Island! You can find it HERE.
Two things that I ordered from the website were these scrapbook paper collections. The price was unbelievable and they will be so helpful for orders and items for the shop. You can find the BoBunny Garden Party Collection Pack HERE and the Echo Park Paper Co Fall and Family Scrapbook Paper Pads HERE. If you love scrapbooking or just have a love affair for pretty paper like I do, then Zulily has tons of crafting options to check out!
There are so many different items on Zulily that I loved and I created a board with lots of different items and some of my favorites. You can check out my board HERE! Keep checking back as I will continue to update my board with new pieces and items that I find that I love as Zulily is constantly making new items available!
What about y'all? Any favorite items from Zulily that you love?
A huge thank you to Mavenx for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
Happy Saturday friends! Today I am excited to share with y'all my personal altered planner for this upcoming year. It was so much fun to create, pray through the upcoming year, and be excited for all that God has in store! I hope that you have had a wonderful first few days of this new year and that you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the pictures!
Can y'all believe that we (in the United States) are fast approaching the end of summer? I honestly can not. And yet the weather here in the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York has already started to "turn" to cooler days and much cooler evenings. There is a certain "feel" that comes with fall and that "feeling" has begun to emerge. On the other hand though some days are so warm that I feel that summer is trying to hold on for "a few more days". I have been seeing the most adorable fall wreathes around Pinterest and I was anxious to start "bringing in fall" while still celebrating these last summer evenings. So to capture this I used some of my favorite products from The Twinery to create an "early fall" Adirondack wreath.
To create the decorations on the wreath I first gathered several strands of the Copper Shimmer Twine together and wrapped it loosely around the wreath. I love this twine! It is actually my favorite shimmer twine!! What is so wonderful about this twine is that the Copper tones are so rich and really give any project that you use with it an immediate "elegant" look. Even using the twine here, loosely wrapped around this wreath, gives the wreath a completely different look then not having it.
For the flowers, I wanted to create a "layered" look of "early fall" colors for the wreath decorations. I chose to use several different colors that can be changed out or replaced with other twine products as October comes upon us. I am actually planning on leaving the Copper Shimmer Twine on for each of the upcoming holiday seasons while changing out the flower colors! (Can you tell I love that Copper Shimmer Twine?!? *smiles*) For this time period though I choose to use the beautiful Marigold Twine, the vibrant Mandarin Twine, the sweet Marigold Stripe Twine, and the Maraschino Stripe Twine. I love the final look and hope y'all do too!
I am so blessed to be sharing about this project over on the Twinery's blog- I hope y'all will check it out! I hope that y'all have a wonderful Monday and enjoy these last few days of summer as we transition to fall!
Blessings y'all,
Happy Friday y'all!!
In addition to the Lyle, Lyle Crocodile Storybook bunting that went into the shop this past week I also have added a few additional items that I wanted to share with y'all! (Some of you have asked when new items go into the shop. The answer is: every Monday morning! Since December Caravan's mission is to inspire hope & joy in every part of people's lives through handmade creations I figure there is no better time than on Monday mornings! *smiles*) Here are some of the other items that I listed this past Monday:
I have long loved the quote: "All I need today is a little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus" and it always brings a smile to my face when I read it. This artwork quote is written on vintage hymn sheet music and measures approximately 8 x 9 1/4. All embellishments on the vintage sheet music are acid free. This piece is backed by simple acid free chipboard. This piece also features vintage quilting material and I have hand cut it into a shape of a heart and hand stitched the word "Jesus" onto it. The heart sits on a pocket that is filled with five verses (seen in the pictures above) that are a daily source of encouragement for anyone. This piece could be framed or displayed in a variety of ways. It could be used for decoration at an event or it could be used in a home, apartment, or in a college dorm room. This piece would also make an excellent gift! If you are interested in purchasing this item you can click HERE to go directly to my shop!
This ancient hymn, "Jesus, I am resting, resting" has been a source of great comfort throughout these many years fighting advanced late stage Lyme Disease and Cancer. The words of this song have been a quiet prayer that I have cried through and gained strength from during some long dark days and nights. Each vintage hymn artwork piece is displayed on vintage sheet music and quotes part of a ancient hymn. All embellishments on the vintage sheet music are acid free. Each vintage hymn artwork piece is backed by simple acid free chipboard. This quote measures 8 1/2 x 11 and could be framed or displayed in a variety of ways. It could be used for decoration at an event or it could be used in a home, apartment, or in a college dorm room. Know a friend who is struggling with illness or a difficult time in their life? This could simply be sent to a friend as an encouragement. If you are interested in purchasing this item you can click HERE to go directly to my shop!
This quote from Joni Eareckson Tada has proven to be a huge comfort to me in this journey and fight against Advanced Lyme Disease and Cancer. I have often looked at it and been inspired to remember that there is a plan larger than the "walls of sickness". Each artwork quote is handwritten on acid-free scrapbook paper and is backed by simple acid free chipboard.
This ancient hymn, "Be Still My Soul" has been a favorite of mine since I was a small child. As an adult and fighting two serious diseases (Advanced Late Stage Lyme Disease and Cancer) the words of this song written so many years ago have been a quiet prayer that I have cried through and gained strength from during some long dark days and nights. One of my favorite verses from the psalms states: "God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:three) This psalm has been so incredibly special to me throughout the years and especially through some extremely difficult days and nights.
Last month a friend of my sisters lost his father and my sister asked me to make a sympathy card. I wanted something that would be simple yet comforting and something that would bring a touch of hope to this most difficult situation.
I wrote out the words "with sympathy" in black pen but did not make them "pretty" looking as I don't think that grief is ever pretty. Its completely messy and in the midst of that I love that the Lord heals our pain.
This verse talks about "binding up" the wounds of those who are brokenhearted. I love this truth and took twine to wrap around the card to illustrate it.
The card was for a guy so I didn't want it to be girly in the least but still wanted to add some stitching. Using vintage white thread I roughly hand- stitched the two patterns together.
**I first shared this on the Twinery's blog last week!**
In honor of Memorial Day today I wanted to share it with y'all on here! I hope y'all enjoy and have a wonderful day today!

It is no secret that I love the products from The Twinery and I love finding ways to thank the servicemen and women who are serving America around the world. I often use twine to add a little bit of “happy color” to the packages that I send abroad and love to take time to honor those who have worked so hard to defend our country. As we approach Memorial Day and July 4th (later on this summer) I was looking for a way to combine these loves. This project was delightful to make as an adult to use to display patriotic sentiments but easy enough for children to make as a sweet summer crafting project.
First I gathered my supplies- Mixed Media (acid free) cardstock, craft tape, and the twine that I was going to use, and an old atlas book with vintage maps inside.
Second, I gathered all of the colored twine that I needed for the project. I specifically ended up using Solid Midnight Blue, Natural, and Maraschino for this project!
Third, I attached the vintage map to the mixed media cardstock to give it a firm background and allowed the finished product to be displayed in a variety of different places without needing to be framed.
Fourth, I used the Solid Midnight Blue twine to complete the solid section first before starting the stripes.
Fifth, after completing the Solid Midnight Blue section I started to work on the Natural, and Maraschino stripes sections. To be honest I started off with sketching out the lines and gave up after two! (hahaha) I ended up liking the “free hand/rough” better than it looking perfect. Honestly y’all this project took some time but was easy enough for young children to do. I cut strips of the crafting tape and then added the Natural and Maraschino twine to create the finalized look.
Finally, I attached the ends under the map and then attached it to mixed media cardstock to give it a finished look. I loved the final product and think y’all would really have fun trying it too!
I have loved the twine from the The Twinery for quite a while and hope that you will continue to come back to see all of the fabulous ways that you can use twine in your everyday life!

Happy Friday y'all! I wanted to share some general updates with y'all from the past couple of weeks!
(one) As y'all know from my notes from the porch post on Tuesday I have been struggling for the last couple of weeks with a variety of different things and feeling pretty awful. Unfortunately on top of this I have developed an allergic reaction to two of my "everyday" meds for my stomach. Due to this I made an appointment with my gastrointestinal specialist but sadly after this appointment we have decided to "go in different directions". Unfortunately at this time my case appears to be a little to complicated for him. I cried after the appointment as I appreciate everything that he has attempted to do but it was becoming obvious (in my last few appointments) that my case goes beyond the typical digestive issues and he can not handle that. It is sometimes hard to accept when a doctor doesn't have the answers but I am so grateful for a God who is the ultimate healer. As I continued to pray about this whole upsetting situation throughout the day yesterday I was reminded that the Lord sometimes closes a door to open a new one. Please pray as we search for a new specialist, try to figure out with my Lyme doctor the best medicine to try from here, and for relief from these very painful symptoms that I am struggling with. Ultimately we continue to pray with all of y'all for complete healing! Thank you!
(two) It is hard to believe that the summer months are almost upon us here! I have been SLOWLY begun the process of packing for New York. My heart loves this time of year and I am incredibly excited about my time at camp. An exciting announcement (that is an answer to prayer!) is that I have found a clinic in Vermont (approximately an hour away) where I will be receiving Vitamin C treatments!! THANK YOU for praying for this friends! As y'all know this treatment was incredibly beneficial to my health last May when I received it and I am rejoicing with this news! I will be taking these months off of soft covered hyberbaric oxygen and will be replacing it with new medications & supplements, therapeutic reflexology, vitamin c treatments, and acupuncture for these months. It is always a good thing with Lyme Disease to "change up" some things so this is a wonderful opportunity to do this. (I will return to the oxygen when I return to the south in the fall.)
I always am blown away by your incredible generosity to me in this journey. I hesitated to post yet another "go fund me" page but so many of you have stated that you appreciate the opportunity to know how to be praying financially and to have an opportunity to donate financially if you are able. I have shared before that this is a very difficult part of this journey but after praying about it I have decided to continue this. This might change in the future but for now I humbly accept y'alls request. On my new page (which can be found on the right hand side here on my blog or can be found by clicking HERE) you can see that I have broken down the needs for the upcoming months. The page is giving an estimated amount that is still needed for medical bills and medical costs & treatment for the summer months (June- September). If you are curious here is the breakdown of what I am anticipating that I will still need after money that I prayerfully earn through free lance writing, Parcel Post Tribe, custom orders, and The Paper Sonnet Etsy Shop.
$100- Therapeutic Reflexology for 4 months (not covered by insurance)
$200- Supplements for 4 months (this is only a small percentage of what is purchased each month, yet a very necessary link in the healing process)
$300- Vitamin C treatments for 4 months. This is the remaining amount after insurance pays a percentage)
$300- Doctors appointments, labs & blood work, and gas & ferry expenses for 4 months (after insurance covers their part)
$600- Acupuncture for 4 months (not covered by insurance)
Total Cost: $ 1500.00**
**This does not include costs that are already supplied. Listed above is the needs beyond what resources Rebecca has available at this specific time. Thank you again for all of your support and prayers!
