Today I wanted to share a bit more about this club and answer some of the most frequently asked questions that I have been receiving!
First- if you have been around the blog since the beginning (and thank you if you have - how has it been THIRTEEN YEARS?! this year?!?) you may remember that there was a short-lived (about a year long) parcel post tribe that I created. At that time I hand created two different snail mail cards and then sent them out each month (with stamps) so that people could re-ignite their love for snail mail with the ease of not needing to go shopping for a card along with not needing to go purchase stamps. It was a sweet season and I was truly sad that due to my health I needed to stop and cancel that snail mail club dream in 2014. At that time it truly felt like one more "death" and behind the scenes it was very difficult for me.
For years I have wanted to restore that in a different way and have spent a lot of time praying and thinking through how to best do that and what would be the best way to do this. At the same time I have always loved drawing whimsical maps for different occassions, my class rooms, for personal requests, etc. and when I was in France in August, at the Saint-George de Boscherville Abbey, it all came together in my mind and heart. I spent months researching to see if there was anything like this that existed with the whimsical maps and hand-written letters and photos and couldn't find anything! It has been a joy to work on this behind the scenes and then announce it this past week in the new year!

The Caravan Sonnet Map Letter is a monthly correspondence designed to slow the pace of life and reconnect you to place, story, and quiet encouragement.
Each month, a thoughtfully curated parcel arrives containing three frame-worthy pieces, created and written by Rebecca VanDeMark:
* A 5×7 hand-drawn, whimsical illustrated map of a meaningful place—designed to be studied, saved, and returned to and is suitable for framing, using in your journal or gifting to a loved one.
* A 4×6 fine-art photograph from Rebecca’s personal collection, capturing a quiet detail of a place on the map. Each photograph is selected for its sense of calm, memory, and presence, and is suitable for framing or display.
* A handwritten letter sharing little-known historical details, reflections on place, and gentle words of encouragement—written to inspire steadiness, hope, and renewed perspective.
Together, these pieces create a small archive of places you can hold in your hands.
The Map Letter is not rushed mail. It is a pause—an invitation to sit, read, look closely, and remember that beauty still arrives slowly.
This subscription may be ordered for yourself or gifted to someone you love. Many subscribers choose the Map Letter as a way to mark a season of transition, recovery, or renewal, or to send a steady reminder of care to someone who needs encouragement without expectation.
Each Map Letter is meant to be kept, framed, or tucked away and rediscovered—building, over time, a personal collection of places and stories that quietly shape the rhythm of a life.

Some of the most Frequently Asked Questions that I am receiveing with some answers:
1. What is the cost per month?
The cost of the Map Letter Club is only $9! For less than $10, for the cost of a card with a stamp now adays, you are receiving three pieces (with an extra surprise!) and the following:
* A 5×7 hand-drawn, whimsical illustrated map of a meaningful place—designed to be studied, saved, and returned to.
* A fine-art photograph from Rebecca’s personal collection, capturing a quiet detail of a place on the map. Each photograph is selected for its sense of calm, memory, and presence, and is suitable for framing or display.

2. How It Works
Rolling Enrollment
You may join at any time. Subscriptions opened during a month will receive the following month’s edition. Orders placed from the 1st-25th of the month will receive the next month’s subscription
Example:
Orders placed on January 1st- January 25th will receive February’s subscription. For orders placed after the 25th (26th-31st of the month) will receive the following month’s subscription. For example: orders placed on January 26th- 31st will receive their first subscription in March. You will receive the previous month also (so for this example both February and March will arrive for your first order) but it will not arrive till March. This allows us time to carefully craft and create just for you as these are NOT mass produced. Monthly Shipping
The Map Letter Club ship the first week of each month (by the 5th) via standard USPS mail (no tracking, to keep costs low for buyers) from New York. Most subscriptions will arrive within 3-5 days. If you have not received your mail by the 20th of the month please feel free to email us at: caravansonnet@gmail.com .
Billing
You’ll be billed on the same day each month as your original subscription date.
Shipping Included - US Only
Shipping is included in the subscription price—no extra fees. NO tracking is included. We currently only ship within the United States.
Flexible & Easy
You may update your shipping address or cancel your subscription at any time.
