So chock full of Go...Oh, this is a wonderful post! So chock full of Godly wisdom! I heard a quote the other day that said, "Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die." It is a prison that holds us in bondage and does nothing to make the situation right. It is so hard to forgive, but we will never be able to walk in to the wonderful future God has for us if we don't. We will stay right at the spot of the injustice, which is in the past. Another type of deep hurt that is so hard to forgive is the kind that is inflicted by ministers or other Christians. Oh, the pain is deep! And so unexpected! It is taking my family and me a lot of time to heal and recover and be restored, but God is so faithful. We just don't think hurt should ever come through such channels, and the shock is hard to overcome, similar to the types of hurts you were speaking of. The Balm of Gilead is still sufficient to soothe and heal all wounds, praise His name! One of the main ways God has helped me to forgive is to pray regularly for the ones who have inflicted hurt...it is NOT easy...at least, at first. But, over time, it has become easer, and I have even reached the place where I ask God to BLESS them, and I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Oh, it is liberating to forgive! To just let it go! And walk forward in His grace!!! God bless you for sharing what He has placed upon your heart, sweet friend. :)Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01891257905649460436noreply@blogger.com
